Parents' Resource Corner: Help is Available!

December 12, 2021

If you need help paying bills, San Antonio’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program can help with your rent or mortgage and utility bills. For qualified low-income San Antonio families, the program can make a one-time payment to a landlord or creditor to cover (maximum: $3,500) up to three months of unpaid rent or mortgage payments.

San Antonio residents applying for housing assistance are eligible to have up to $1,500 of their utility and internet bills paid through the program. Families who receive housing assistance are eligible for up to $300 for groceries and fuel.

Find out more, and apply online, at: https://sacrd.org/directory/program/4135. Or, call 210-207-5910.

For more help, simply dial 2-1-1. That’s the helpline from United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. The helpline is free, you can be anonymous, and you can call 24 hours a day, every day.

When you dial this number (or 877-541-7905 if you can’t get through), you can learn how to get help with housing bills, utility bills and unemployment services. You can find help to obtain food, clothing, child care, and crisis or emergency counseling.

Thank you, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County.
