Toddlers Go Shopping

You don’t have to leave your home to help your child learn while on a shopping trip. Make a “grocery list” of simple items in your home. Then, grab a basket and go shopping with your young child for each item on the list. Help your child practice counting while you shop. Help your children build their vocabulary by describing and pronouncing the word for each item.

Help your child develop organizational skills important for learning. Make a “grocery list” of clutter on the floor. Then, help your child learn to place scattered toys, clothes, books and other items where they belong on shelves and in drawers.
