For Toddlers: Practice, Practice, Practice

While grownups can find it boring to do the same thing again and again, infants and toddlers thrive on repetition, reports U.S. Department of Education researchers. It takes practice when infants and toddlers learn a new movement, word or skill.

Let them stack the same set of blocks again and again. Encourage them to repeat a movement, or repeatedly say the same word out loud. Experts say this builds confidence. A strong sense of confidence will help your child succeed in school.
