Puzzle Time for Toddlers

Playing with puzzles can help even young toddlers improve fine motor (hands, fingers) skills and hand-eye coordination, say early education researchers at the University of Illinois. No age-appropriate puzzles on the premises?

Cut out a colorful magazine page, or draw a picture on a piece of plain white paper, and paste to a piece of cardboard to make it sturdier. Cut your puzzle into two, three or four pieces. When that becomes too easy, create a puzzle cut into five, six or eight parts to piece together.
